If you are looking for a sweet treat, the gluten-free beignets are a perfect match. Unless you are staying at Port Orleans Resort it can be tricky to get too, but nonetheless worth it.

Good morning readers,
Our time at Disney World was coming to an end when we discovered that gluten-free beignets were available, and least to say we were excited to try some. It would take a fair bit of effort, and we didn’t manage to get there until late in the evening, but we managed. This is due to the fact that getting gluten free beignets does require a little bit of a hike and some planning. They are located at Scat Cat’s Club - Café, which can be found at the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. Although located on Disney World property, the hotel can be a tricky place to reach. The resort is located not far from Disney Springs, meaning it is a fair distance away from the parks. The best way to get there is by starting at either Disney Springs or one of the parks and hoping onto the resort's bus. That being said, the journey is well worth it. The café is located in the main foyer of the hotel, which is styled to feel like something straight out of New Orleans.
Ordering:
Online ordering is not available at Scat Cat’s Club - Café, so all orders must be placed at the front counter. Additionally, the online menu does not mention any gluten-free options. However, if you inquire at the counter, you will find that gluten-free beignets are available. As with other quick-service restaurants at Disney World, gluten-free orders are noted on a special allergen notepad and served on a purple coloured tray.
Gluten-free Beignets:
The Beignets served at Scat Cat’s Club - Café, are of the Louisiana-style made from leavened dough rather than the more common choux pastry variety. This fits perfectly with the resort’s New Orleans theme, as the Louisiana-style beignet is the state’s official donut.
We ordered a total of six gluten-free beignets - three classic ones dusted in icing sugar and three topped with icing sugar, salted caramel sauce, cream and ice cream.
The Beignets were fluffy, light and absolutely delicious, especially when paired with the salted caramel sauce. They were airey and made for the perfect after-dinner snack.
Conclusion:
Overall, the gluten-free beignets make for a lovely snack. However, unless you are staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, you do have to go a fair way out of your way to get them. But would I do it again? Yes I most certainly would. Perhaps not every day, but for a delicious sweet treat it is definitely worth making the trip at least once while you are at the parks.
